As discussed on the Home page, the Universe is an ocean of electromagnetic energies--including mental energies. If we can only pry open our doors of perception, we would have access to the Universal mind-soup in the form of other-dimensional beings as well as pure information. We could gather information from and on the other realms. Some people can do this now: It's called divination. Some of these people, such as Edgar Cayce in the first half of the twentieth century, referred to the information stream as a gigantic library, the Akashic Records. That seems a little too literal to me; however, the concept is sound.

Methods of divination include many age-old practices: Astrology (the reading of the stars), Oracles (the gods speaking through their priests and priestesses), gazing into Crystal balls (also called crystal gazing or scrying), casting of Tarot cards, runes, dice or coins, the I-Ching, palmistry, psychometry (getting "vibes" off of objects), use of pendulums or divining rods, dream-divination, automatic writing and ouija boards (presumably spirit messages), etc. The methods are virtually endless; the objective, however, is singular. Chaos Magician Peter J. Carroll states it this way: "Aim to silence the mind and let inspiration provide some sort of answer. Whatever symbolic system or instruments are used, they act only to provide a receptacle or amplifier for inner abilities" (p.19, Liber Null).

I would add that most of these methods remind people of "fortune-telling"; this very fact points out the mischievous nature of other-dimensional beings and the information they convey.

So, bottom-line: We must test our trans-dimensional contacts as well as their information as it relates to our normal, everyday realm. If the other-dimensional beings tell us things but are on a different time scale, we may not immediately make that connection. As discussed on the Air Page, if the trans-dimensional beings can change their frequencies, and thus appear in our realm, is it not possible that they could change our frequencies? It may be that they can change our brains' "radio stations"! If this is so, then the intimate information they tell us may simply have been deciphered from our own brains. You must attune yourself to feeling what is true; you must develop your psychic instincts.

Further, we must protect ourselves from malevolent trans-dimensional beings. They may have been the creation of human fears and angers (the shadow side of human nature), but they are still real -- and must be dealt with. General occult wisdom dictates that you visualize a white light, especially in a three dimensional form surrounding you. You've probably heard of a variation of this: a magician's magic circle. The circle is to help the magician separate the normal everyday world from the magickal one; it also helps concentrate and contain magickal powers. The circle is not simply a circle; it is the visual edge of an invisible magickal sphere. Any entities summoned are temporarily contained within a smaller magickal sphere, contained within the larger magickal sphere. Once the entities' services are no longer required, they are dismissed by a banishing ritual; (see the Fire Page).

As to information about other dimensions, that information must remain more suspect as it is much harder to verify. The true test of other-word reconnaissance must the experience of spirit-journeying human beings or psychonauts; (see the Air and Aura Pages).
